Telefónica O2 Slovakia added in the 1st quarter of 2009 as many as 40 thousand new customers. In a year-on-year comparison it represents an increase in total number of customers by 27 %. A significant group is made up of customers, who brought their mobile number to the O2 Slovakia network from a different operator. In this quarter, the number of these customers surged almost 30 times more vis-à-vis 1th quarter of 2008. A successful expansion of the O2 customer community testifies thus to an ongoing high interest in the O2 Fér offer.
“The community of O2 customers in Slovakia grows each day and we are very pleased about it. Customers welcomed our fair offer and are satisfied with our services. It was confirmed that O2 Fér is a product that fulfills requirements of our clients even in the current economic situation. We will keep introducing products that don’t force clients to binding and provide them with convenient prices of calls, SMS, and data. The evidence is also the recently introduced data package O2 Data Neobmedzene that enables all O2 customers to use data transmission and Internet in the O2 Slovakia network without any limitations at a price of only € 6 per month,“ commented the Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica O2 Slovakia Juraj Šedivý.
Using the methodology of customer reporting on 3-month basis, the number of O2’s active customers in Slovakia reached at the end of the 1st quarter of 2009 altogether 366 thousand. To a considerable extent, the increase was driven mainly by a 59% year-on-year growth in the number of customers using the invoice-based payment to 118 thousand. The number of customers paying for the services in form of credit recharge reached as at March 31, 2009 248 thousand representing a 16 % growth year-on-year.
In the 1st quarter of 2009, the company’s revenues also recorded growth by 40 %. This gives evidence to the fact that in reaction to the O2 Fér offer the O2 customer base keeps expanding and improving its quality.
